Recently, our hearts have been burdened to see such the great needs of children with disabilities, particularly children with special needs, such Mental retardation, autism, down syndrome and intellectual disabilities in Cambodia whose lives are shattered by various problems including discrimination, abused and child labors...
Our hearts were so broken to see these people who are living under the spiritual bondage in the dark world as we’re faithfully ministering to these marginalized children.
My both daughters and I are receiving the word of God to start a new ministry called “Disabled People’s Foundation” to respond to the needs of these children and parents. We prayed and decided to walk by our faith to obey what the Lord has definitely called us to serve these disabled children and their parents.
At this stage, we’re fervently praying for the financial support needed from wherever it is, so that we can plant a daycare for these children who are isolated from the communities, providing them food, special education, health care, vocational skill training and income generation of projects to support these children and parents.
We continued to put our trust in the Lord that he will perform his provisions to support the day-to-day basis of the ministry. Our hearts and vision is so big for the people of Cambodia that we want to see Cambodia is transformed holistically.
Our statement of commitment is that every single person has great potential to touch at least one thousand lives over their life time for the Kingdom of God...
We strongly ask you to believe with us, pray with us, support us or volunteer your time with us to make it possible for the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Actually the first stage of 7th, July 2010, we have done the home based care program as Home Base Care Services at the communities, this mean that the staff will be at community outreach and spend more time with the disabled children and work directly their families at their home, such as to make the physical therapy, teaching life-skill, awareness, literacy, special education, child participation, team building for involve with non-disabled children around the communities and recreational program direct at their homes, by the way we would like to build the relationship between parents and the children to become closer, so that the children will gain more confident and more self-reliance in the future, on the other hand the parents could have an opportunity to see our daily actions every day and learn how to practice or how to help their children in the future and expected and dream that in soon we will have the Community Day-Care Center to access the special need and special education with conducting activities in term of Emotional and Physical development,
It was so hard through years as there were many issues such as the condition of the children’s home were not good condition for the children with disability in term of disability and development, we came up with the ideas that the rights of the child should be the point of departure for the project. The main emphasis will be on integrating the children, to enabling them to attend day-care and ordinary school with other children.
The projects focus on supporting children and it will be rooted in the local community that where possible there are some participation by children and parents around the community with exchange knowing collaboration with local experts and with the authorities are essential and by the way the projects, especially innovative ones and inclusive education for children with disabilities
We prayed again and again to see the God’s provision and prayed to God about our obstacles, Finally God response our prayer that we have the Community Day-Care Center happen in 12, Dec 2012 until now with 30 disabled children could access the daycare services( Day Care of Loves)
